Pollution is one of the most important problems of our time. The massive use of fossil fuels is undoubtedly one of the main causes of this type of pollution. The measurement of this is done through shelter type cabins, such as the ones we manufacture in Mecanizados Delinte.
There are more than 600 fixed measuring stations throughout the country, in addition to several analyzers. The Ministry for Ecological Transition (MITECO), through the State Meteorological Agency, the EMEP/VAG/CAMP network, is also responsible for collecting data to obtain information on transboundary pollution and to comply with Spain’s obligations under the Geneva Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution.
Located in representative spaces
The emission measurement booths are responsible for measuring the concentrations of tropospheric ozone and other atmospheric pollutants such as sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxide (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (BTX) and heavy metal particles that may remain suspended in the air. The purpose of these facilities, in addition to adequate control, is to be able to warn the population so that they can take protective measures.
Emission measurement booths can be fixed or mobile. The latter are usually used for temporary campaigns or research work. They can also serve as auxiliary cabins when there is a failure in one of the fixed cabins.
One of the first issues to be taken into account is the geographic space in which they are to be placed. It should respond to an environment that is representative of the area. In addition, they have to be equipped in such a way that their design requires certain aspects to be taken into account.
Characteristics of emission measurement cabinets
The internal temperature of the station should be maintained between 18 and 20 degrees. This implies the need for an air conditioning system. If toxic gases are handled, the cabins must also be equipped with fans or extractors. Analyzers, calibrator, communication equipment etc. should be placed on shelves or cabinets.
Sampling equipment should be fixed to the wall with metal fittings. The cab must also have space for a shelf or desk for the operator to work at. If explosive gases are to be handled, the corresponding safety measures must be taken. In any case, you must always have a fire extinguisher.
Measuring booths can be made of different materials. We focus on their manufacture in galvanized steel or stainless steel for their high resistance. Galvanized steel is steel that undergoes a hot-dip process with molten zinc. This generates a zinc layer on the surface that prevents oxidation. In addition, they are insulated with rock wool and internally lined with stainless steel, galvanized steel and then painted or plasticized chipboard. In terms of space, we manufacture shelter cabins from 2000x1500x2500 (WxDxH) mm to 14000x2800x2700 (WxDxH) mm. Always adapted to the type of equipment they must contain.
For more than 30 years, numerous institutions and private companies have chosen to rely on us for the use of shelter cabins.
